Battle of the Atlantic 80th Anniversary
We went up to the Pier Head in Liverpool on Saturday 27th May 2023 to join the Battle of the Atlantic 80th Anniversary commemorations. Specifically we wanted to see the Swordfish and Seafire plus the BBMF fly pasts. Below you will see some video footage and some of the stills we took from the Pier Head.
I’m still in absolute awe of these amazing machines, the sound of the Merlin engine always puts the hair up on the back of my neck. But astounded by the very young men that bravely flew in them 80 years ago! Brave guys, none of the woke nonsense of the modern age, we could and should learn from them their selfless service and duty.
